The Bicycle Travel Network scholarship fund was created in early 2010 to help first-time bike travelers get their start in the world of self-supported bicycle touring. Each of our founders started traveling by bike at a young age and these travels made a huge personal impact on each of our lives. For this reason, we want to pass such experiences on to others who are just getting their start. This page describes who can apply for the scholarship and what steps need to be taken.
Who Can Apply
In order to apply for the Bicycle Travel Network scholarship, you must be 18 years of age or older. You can apply for the scholarship no matter where you live in the world.
The Bicycle Traveler Network scholarship is intended for first-time bicycle travelers. However, if you have already conducted a short trip by bike, you are more than welcome to apply. If you have already cycled around the world, this scholarship is likely not for you.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about world travel, bicycle touring and personal development. If you can prove to us that you are serious about your efforts to experience the world on the back of a bicycle, you have a good chance of receiving aid from the Bicycle Travel Network.
How To Apply
To apply for the Bicycle Travel Network scholarship, simply fill out the form below. Extra credit will be given to applicants who submit photos, videos, and/or other creative proof that they truly want support for their upcoming adventures.
The application deadline for our first wave of scholarship funds is April 15th, 2010.
